Best Burgers in Nashville
Somewhere smooshed between the market for Hot Chicken and Barbecue, you’ll find a solid set of eateries offering great beefy burgers in Nashville. It often takes so much more than quality meat and a good bun but even those basics are what help a restaurant stand out. I’ve tried some of the best burgers in Nashville so you don’t have to and have come to understand what it takes to make an outstanding one, however now it’s your chance to decide what’s most important to you when it comes to a burger and go grab yours. This one made our featured dining list. Note that one burger being the best in one category does not mean that others are not close seconds. Being that this list is over a year in the making, they all stand the test of time for their rankings. Check these out!
Best Beef Used for the Burger: Burger Up
Their “thoughtful consuming” concept is clear when it comes to the quality of the beef at Burger Up. I’ve never had a burger that was cooked above or below what I asked for, that typically being medium. On top of the logistics of cooking the burger, they seem to have not just sources great meat but prepared the patties themselves quite well.
Best Topping Options on the Burger: Farm Burger
I think the best thing you can do for yourself is to do a Build-Your-Own burger when eating at Farm Burger. From those thin slices tomatoes to the caramelized onions, they had everything I wanted and didn’t even realize that I was craving. Farm Burger takes the toppings that you’ll find at a lot of places, and take it one step further by preparing them the best way. The Farm Burger sauce belongs on every burger out there because it compliments both the meat and veggies perfectly.
Either I am completely late to the game or pimento cheese really is an underrated cheese to smother your burger with. The quality AND quantity combination was really what stole my heart for the burger at HopSmith Tavern. It tasted great without having an overwhelming amount on the burger, because we all know that some places take their cheese a little too seriously.
Best Dive Bar Burger: Rosie’s Twin Kegs
Passing up dive bars for their food is one of the biggest mistakes you could make. While the beer I had did compliment the food perfectly, I can’t have the beer without the burgers here! It’s a bit greasier as far as a burger goes, but that is as expected. I enjoyed everything from the bun to the toppings, with an honorary mention to the fries on the side.
#1 Burger in Nashville?
I can’t choose just one burger in Nashville!
Each spot has something unique to offer. I considered Burger Republic or M.L. Rose, but that felt unjust considering I do still have so many more to try! While there are some great vegan spots in Nashville, the meat-centric food industry means that there are such innovative chefs and restaurant staffs — which makes curating a burger list equally difficult and fun!
That still begs the question… where else should I try? I’m definitely thinking I need more dive bar burgers in my life. Find more of my blog posts under featured dining.
